Abstract

The review deals with the degradation of polymers by high-energy ions. The most important changes of their chemical structure and physical, including surface properties caused by ion irradiation are discussed with respect to their biocompatibility. Dependences of adhesion and proliferation of smooth muscle cells and keratinocytes on physicochemical properties of modified polymers are studied.
