Abstract

Laboratory research involving three different limestones, four solid fossil fuels and nine types of biomass has shown that biomass significantly reduces the reactivity of calcined limestone in desulfurization of combustion products. This negative effect can be attributed to coating of CaO with various products of biomass and coal combustion.
