Dioxins as a Source of Hazard for the Environment and Health

Abstract

The names dioxins, PCB and POPs are explained and environmental risks connected with the production and formation of these classes of compounds are discussed. Examples of intoxication by these compounds in industrial accidents and in the Vietnam war are reviewed. Reduction of environmental hazard is discussed.
