Abstract

The effect of nucleic acid bases (adenine, guanine) on the second reduction step of oxygen (electroreduction of hydrogen peroxide) on the hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) or the meniscus-modified silver amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE) was studied. In the presence of chloride anions the corresponding voltammetric peak increases with increasing concentration of the bases while the peak potential is shifted to more positive potentials.
