Abstract

The article deals with the influence of temperature on the ion exchange capacity of selected cation exchangers. Operations running at increased temperatures may influence the ion exchange of ion exchangers, which affects their ion exchange capacities. The ion exchangers were tested in the H+ form, at various temperatures, in the wet and dry states. Particle size distribution and swelling capacities were determined before and after the thermal loading.  DSC and TGA as well as ion exchange capacities were measured. The results show that the thermal stresses decreased the ion-exchange functions of the resins.
