Abstract

Liposomes with incorporated magnetite (Fe3O4 particles of diameter ~ 10 nm (magnetoliposomes) were studied from the point of view of their applications as carriers in the magnetic separations. The magnetite particles were prepared by coprecipitation of FeCl2 in the presence of an access of ammonia and then incorporated into the lipid bilayers of formed liposomes. The influence of magnetic field on their separation was studied spectrophotometrically. As has been shown, magnetoliposomes represent a simple and cheap alternative to other commonly used but much more expensive commercial carriers.
