Abstract

The energetic utilization of PVC is advantageous for those PVC fractions where the material or raw material recyclation is already inconvenient or of no sense. The energetic utilization of PVC is strongly dependent on the technology of cleaning of combustion products used in classic refuse incinerating plants. With tightening emission limits, wet methods of cleaning of combustion gases found use. From balance considerations it follows that coincineration of ca. 2 % of PVC evenly dosed with municipal waste causes no problems. A higher proportion of PVC in the refuse incinerating plants using a wet method of cleaning of combustion gases is always possible, but the corresponding chloride loading must be accepted.
