Abstract

This review covers applications of instrumental colour measurement using the tristimulus system in development, production and quality control of drugs in the last two decades. Although it has not been a commonly used method, the number of its applications in stability testing of drugs, medicinal preparations and excipients increases. Incorporation of instrumental colour measurement into the European Pharmacopoeia is also probable.
