Abstract

The history of applications and development of the methods of infrared and Raman spectroscopy at chemistry departments of Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, are reviewed. Historical overview, from the late fifties of past century to the present, is completed with short reviews concerning two selected research fields, which are actually studied, i.e. Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and Spectroscopy of Hydrogen Bonded Crystalline Materials.
