Abstrakt

The Faculty of Chemical Technology (FCT) of the University of Chemistry and Technology (UCT) in Prague was established in 1969 by merging the Faculty of Inorganic Technology and the Faculty of Organic Technology. At the time of its establishment, the FCT was the largest faculty of the university and had 12 departments and 2 laboratories. So far, 10 deans took their turn in managing it. Today FCT comprises 11 departments and 1 laboratory. Although originally focused solely on chemical technology, the FCT has expanded also to the research and teaching of materials, pharmaceuticals, conservation-restoration of arts and crafts, and chemical and biochemical informatics. Today, the FCT of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague represents a modern higher education and research institution, respected at home and abroad.
