Abstrakt

The ever-increasing number of chemicals released into the environment, increasingly stringent safety requirements and increasingly sensitive analytical techniques capable of detecting lower and lower concentrations of chemicals suggest changes in drinking water production and quality monitoring. The drinking water safety cannot rely just on regular detailed analysis of tap water, but an active approach must be adopted, based on health risk analysis of the whole water supply system and on continuous control of any risk. The indicators and methods providing fast (online) results are preferred. A variety of tailored methods and tests will be used to collect additional data complementary to the routine analytical data. Novel tools will also be used in assessment of the sensory quality of drinking water.
