Measurement of High Resolution Microwave Spectra in Cells with Long Optical Paths

The paper describes high resolution microwave spectrometry of gases in the millimeter region using the White type cell. The optical system has been improved by repla¬cing Teflon lenses with two toroidal mirrors. The function of this apparatus was tested by measuring the isotopologues of CO. Thus the configuration with a 48-m optical path was obtained and the measurement sensitivity was enhanced by 33 % compared with the previous set-up.
